26% Growth in July – Sønderborg Airport Soars!

Sønderborg Airport continues its positive development with a significant increase in passenger numbers. In July 2025, a total of 4,386 travelers chose to begin their holiday or business trip from Sønderborg – a remarkable 26% increase compared to July last year.

Since the beginning of the year, 34,971 passengers have used the airport, representing an overall growth of 15% compared to the same period in 2024.

The strong performance in July is primarily driven by a broader selection of charter flights and the popular seasonal route to Rønne. Travelers have taken advantage of direct flights from Sønderborg to exciting destinations such as Jersey, Edinburgh, Verona, and Naples.

Behind the attractive travel offerings are Alsie Express, Gislev Rejser, and Neubauer Turistik, all contributing to making Sønderborg a convenient and appealing departure point for both leisure and business travel.

“We are very pleased with the support we’ve seen for our charter destinations. The charter season continues through November, giving travelers the opportunity to fly to destinations such as Rønne, Munich, Vienna, and Madeira,” says Jákup Sverri Kass, Director of Sønderborg Airport.
