Sønderborg Airport continues to experience growth
Sønderborg Airport continues its positive development with passenger growth of 7% in June compared to the same month last year. In June 2024, 5,832 passengers traveled through the airport, while the number increased to 6,223 in June 2025.
The total growth for the year so far is an impressive 13%, which underlines the continued progress for both domestic and charter traffic.
“The growth in June was slightly lower than in April and May, which is partly due to the location of public holidays this year. But we still see solid and sustained progress,” says Jákup Sverri Kass, CEO of Sønderborg Airport.
The airport’s route to Copenhagen continues to grow in passenger numbers, and the expanded charter program with partners such as Neubauer Reisen and Gislev Rejser has attracted more travelers from both the local area and the rest of South and South Jutland.
“Travelers really appreciate that we offer free parking, and how quickly and conveniently they get from the parking area, through the terminal and onto the plane,” says the director.
Sønderborg Airport is optimistic about the rest of 2025 and expects that both business and leisure traffic will contribute to further strengthening the airport’s position in the region.
